EASE OF STRENGTH TRAINING

Strength training is one of the most important activities you can do for your body. It’s not about lifting heavy weights and straining. It’s about rejuvenating your body and building/maintaining your strength. Around the age of 30 our bodies start a process called sarcopenia (loss of muscle mass and function) It starts out slow and typically accelerates around the age of 65. Stimulating your muscles with resistance is the only way to counteract this process, allowing for a better quality of life. I provide a safe, effective, and time saving strength training program.
*protect bone health and muscle mass
*better body mechanics and posture
*disease prevention
*boost energy
*increase metabolism
*improve your mood and physical confidence

How I am different:
With WillPower Fitness, Will is your machine. To maximize your strength potential, I use manual pressure to focus on the eccentric phase of your muscle contraction. The eccentric phase is basically the lengthening of your muscle under resistance, as when controlling a weight down rather than lifting up. This phase is most often rushed through with standard strength training. By using manual resistance during this phase of contraction I am able to generate more resistance throughout a further range of motion, keep you safe and focused. This method will create longer, leaner muscles with less joint pressure and also saving you time from the sets and reps of traditional training.

A Better way to Strength Training:
Traditional Strength training is often geared toward collegiate and professional athletes straining through power moves and heavy weights to become “bigger, stronger, faster” for their sport. In my experience most want to become lighter, leaner, healthier. This does not mean lighter weights and more reps. Your muscles need to be challenged to gain strength, but fast movements and heavy weights stress aging joints. My approach of manual resistance and biomechanics is more efficient and the safer way. Plus, intermixing assisted flexibility allows rest and relaxation between exercises. There are many popular exercise programs to choose from these days, but you will not get the adjustments for your body, quality, focus, safety, and time saving benefits as you will from Will Power Fitness.

Proper form:
The human body/brain is designed to find the easier path. This is not always a good thing. Most often, while strength training, we talk ourselves out of being challenged for fear of "over doing it". A professional trainer's job is to maximize your exercises, keep you focused, adjust your biomechanics, and keep you safe. So you don't "over do it".

Adjusting Your Training:
Discomforts felt from ailments such as tendonitis, arthritis, heart conditions, joint replacements trick people into thinking strength training is not for them. First of all, your condition will only worsen as your body gets weaker from inactivity. My manual resistance and flexibility program is a safe way to challenge your muscles and adjust pressure to help you work through these ailments or avoiding areas as we keep the rest of your body healthy. Pacing the exercises will allow for rest and make training more comfortable. With my ability to adjust to your conditions you will quickly feel results.

Prehab or Rehab:
Whether you are planning to have a surgery in the near future or recovering from one, my unique methodology of training will improve your outcome. It is important to keep your “whole body” strong for the challenges you will face before and after surgery. Clients who I have trained before and after surgery feel better and recover faster.
